The AIDA Freediver Certification Course at Waikiki Dive Center introduces you to this ancient and powerful discipline through a safe, structured, and inspiring training program led by certified professional instructors.
Whether your goal is underwater exploration, photography, spearfishing, or personal growth, this course builds a strong foundation in breath-hold diving while developing confidence, control, and respect for the ocean.
What You Will Learn
Through classroom, confined-water, and open-water training, you will master:

Course Structure
1. Knowledge Development
Learn how your body responds to breath-hold diving, how to prevent injury, and how to optimize performance.
2. Confined Water Training – Day 1 (AIDA 2 Certification)
Practice breath-hold techniques, finning skills, and underwater techniques in a controlled environment.
3. Open Water Sessions – Day 2 (AIDA 1 + 2 Certification)
Apply your skills in real ocean conditions while gradually increasing depth under instructor supervision.
4. Prerequisites

Must be 18 years old (16–17 allowed with parent or guardian consent)

Must be able to swim at least 100 meters nonstop

Must be able to speak and read English or Mandarin Chinese

Confined Water Training
Check-in at Waikiki Dive Center at 6:30 AM to meet your instructor.
Open Water / Beginner Session
Check-in at Waikiki Dive Center at 9:30 AM

After check-in, divers may follow or ride with the instructor to the training site.
Average class duration is approximately 3.5 hours.

Note:
The minimum age for PADI diver is 10+. Depending on the tour, the diver must meet the minimum. Wreck and reef minimum is 15+. Night dive minimum is 12+ on coral.
